Overdue Finished Objects

Hello, friends!

How about we have a roundup of projects I finished months ago and are no longer seasonal?

YEAH!

I will warn you in advance that I’m experimenting with where I take my photos, since I don’t always want to put on a fashion show for my neighbors in my backyard. Right now that space is a corner in my craft room/office. It’s hard to be taken seriously when you’re casually modeling next to a light switch, but whatever.

My goal with these projects was using up as much of my stash as possible.

First up: the Autumn Stripes Raglan by Knits N’ Knots.

This project was easy to follow and worked up super fast. Like I mentioned, this sweater was purely a stash buster, so rather than going with the recommended colors in the project, I used the following:

  • 2 skeins (or 3?!) of Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Moonlight
  • 1 skein (or 2?!) of Hometown USA Lake Tahoe Blue
  • 1 skein of Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Crimson

I remember using 5 skeins total, so I think I used 3 skeins of the Moonlight colorway. GREAT NOTE KEEPING, JENNY. The crimson colorway was more random, so I went through and separated the yarn by solids. My hope had been to use the white/red portion as an accent, but as you can tell from my sleeves, I clearly ran out of yarn.

This project was a great stash-buster! I used every bit of the 5 skeins.

I’m pretty happy with it, though if I could do it again, I’d definitely pick solid-colored yarns so that the color pooling isn’t so weird. I’d also get enough yarn for the sleeves. I have abnormally long arms, so even when I buy something at the store, it is easy to look like I just went through a growth spurt. This is what the sweater looks like when I’m not actively pulling on the sleeves.

Whoops.

Once I get my stash down, I’d love to do this sweater again in solid colors.

Next up is the Hygge Ponchette from Little Box of Crochet.

I finished this project in a day. I remember going back and forth on the pompoms but ultimately decided not to make them. I think that choice worked. This is cute but I don’t think it’s really my style, and don’t see myself wearing it in the future.

Next up – another Little Box of Crochet project, a Starry Scarflette.

I worked on this project on and off all throughout quarantine. It’s cute but I will be honest, I did not like making all the granny squares. I guess I’m not a granny square person.

And finally, the Garden Party Shawl from TL Yarn Crafts!

I finished this one back in the fall, but the photos I took for it looked weird. I just looked sad in all the pictures so I decided to retake them.

I loved this project! I purchased it as a kit from Sewrella Yarns when I first moved up here. The project was easy to follow and the colors are so beautiful! I will say that I should have done a gauge swatch, because I ran out of yarn for the final row (oops!) But there’s really no way to tell.

The colors for this one are so bright and spring-y that I would say it’s the only seasonal project I have in this roundup.

Thank you for reading, and I hope that you’re enjoying whatever you are working on!
