Weekend Makes – Earl Grey Wrap

Happy Sunday, friends!  I hope you all are doing well!

I had a good week.  It was a very quiet week at work, the quietest since…I can’t even remember.  I am grateful for it.  Yesterday we decided to go for a little hike in a nearby park, since I desperately needed a change of pace from our little neighborhood trail.  It was so pretty!  It was fairly isolated too, so we didn’t have to stress too much about social distancing.

I don’t know what’s going to happen in the near future…our stay at home order ends on May 1, though I suspect it will be extended a bit. There’s a lot of uncertainty right now, but it felt so good to walk in the woods, talk about our future plans, and have a bit of normalcy.  It was just what I needed for my mental health.

Yesterday was Apollo’s birthday!  He’s now eight years old. I can’t believe my baby puppy is already eight.  He loved his birthday hike, and crashed as soon as we got home.  In honor of Apollo’s birthday, I wanted to share some of my favorite puppy pictures.  I’m happy to report that he has retained his mischievous streak, even after all these years.

And this weekend, I finally finished my Earl Grey wrap! Ta daaaa!

I finished the crochet work last weekend, but didn’t want to expend the energy on the tassels until yesterday.  They were actually pretty quick and easy to make!

I am really, really happy with how this wrap turned out! I love Two of Wands – her pieces are so stylish, and I am glad I was finally able to make one of her patterns.

WARNING – QUARANTINE HAIR AHEAD.

Look, I don’t have to wear a jacket! Yayyyy!

As I was taking these photos, a farmer was irrigating the fields behind me and I felt very self-conscious.  Also, there was a big ass bumblebee zooming about that made me nervous.

One day I expect to see a face in that window. YOU CAN’T UNSEE IT.

Time to serve up some quarantine lewks:

I am so carefree in the jeans I haven’t worn in a month.  Who cares if the pocket is peeking out? C’EST LA VIE

Ok, I have posted enough embarrassing pictures of myself. ANYWAY.  If you like to crochet, I highly recommend this pattern! Super, super easy, and you can use any self-striping yarn in your stash for this make.

I hope you all have a great week!

  1. That turned out so beautifully! I love the colors and I love Apollo. One of my exes had a dachshund mix and she was the best dog. Also, if that’s your quarantine hair – looking quite lush and lustrous- I’m not showing you mine!!!! It looks like an overgrown shrubbery!!!!

    • Thank you so much! I grew up with dachshunds so I am definitely partial to them. My husband loves Apollo, but I’m not sure I can convince him to get another dachshund after this :p Haha aw thank you, I have been pretty lazy with it (just adding gel/hairspray to get the waves going). At the very beginning of quarantine, I was still using my flat iron, but the dead ends were getting very noticeable that way. So I gave up on it :p

  2. Your wrap is beautiful! It’s funny how strange it looks now to see people dressed in “real clothes” like jeans, haha! I’ll do it for part of a day and then be like, nahhh that’s enough.

  3. Happy Birthday, Apollo!! Razz turns 11 on Tuesday! He is going to get a small bowl of vanilla ice cream. It is his favorite birthday treat. Tell your mommy that her wrap is beautiful and that my hair is down past my shoulder blades now!

  4. Beautiful shawl! I like how the colours look together in it.
Also, Happy Birthday, Apollo! He is cute now and he was cute as a puppy, I don’t often see dachshunds with his colouring and it is super adorable. I definitely have a soft spot for dachshunds in general 🙂
Glad that you’re feeling a little more peaceful and relaxed, I hope it lasts!
